Old Balls

As we get older, so does the Fremonteer. That's right, we've recently passed the one-year anniversary of www.fremonteers.blogspot.com. Who knew this would turn into such a raging empire. I remember back when Kirk and I started this thing out of his garage using a beat-up old Commodore and some nudie mags. Just a couple of crazy kids with nothing but a dream, and some tasteless humor.

Fast forward to May, 2007. Not much has changed. The Fremonteer keeps chugging along at an average of 20 unique visitors/day (slightly inflated for advertiser appeal). Posts have ranged from your basic YouTube videos, weekend highlights, or birthday shout-outs (or toss-ups, whatever you're into). The Fremonteer was even mentioned in a recent edition of the Chicago Tribune 'Life' section (that's a total lie).

But let us not forgot the true inspiration behind this ridiculous documentation of our spontaneous lifestyle....Fremont WI. That's right, the title of this blog is no coincidence to the beauty that sits next to the Wolf River and our neighbors to the north. A place that dreams of 2lb Burgers, Drunk townees in a floating dumpster throwing bottle rockets at each other, Lions, Roller coasters, and love. All living in blissful harmony. A place that welcomes smart-ass, nickname giving city kids every 4th of July. I'm pretty sure our ancestors would giggle at the thought of us spending every 4th of July with a bunch of Canadians, and 13 cases of Natural Light.

Anyway...I'm rambling.
